Fred (Jumbo) Fraser is proud of his Fort Chipewyan heritage. His career and life spawn a variety of fields and endeavors, and is reflective of his deep knowledge of the energy sector, Métis life and the businesses that drive the Wood Buffalo area.

In the 1950’s Fred started young working in transportation of goods, drilling and wildlife management. He then moved on to private business and water management in the 1960’s, and served as volunteer Fire Chief and a volunteer firefighter for 41 years.

A champion dog racer, Fred has dedicated years to Métis economic development and cultural preservation. He was President of Métis Local 125 for 14 years. Fred is a member of the board of the McKay Métis Group.
